Prayer Ministry
“In everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”
(Phil. 4:6)
Prayer is the primary way we communicate with God and is an integral part of the prayer life of our church.
Prayer takes what God places on the inside of us, and transforms it into the words, cries and groans we release back to Him (Romans 8:26-27 NIV). It is the breath and language of a heart which has been captivated by the Lord and His love for people. As those who desire to model our lives after Christ, prayer is a natural response to a deep desire to see Him glorified in the earth.
Jesus taught us to pray in Matt 6:10, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” As we unite ourselves as one voice before His throne of grace we agree with Jesus’ prayer and release the will of the Father into our church, region and nation.
We believe that prayer is God’s primary means of accomplishing His purposes in this world and we pray because we believe.
We believe in a God that listens to our requests (Ps 34:17), longs for our attention (James 4:5b) and ever lives to make intercession of our behalf (Heb 7:25).
We believe our God is good, His mercy endures forever (1 Chron. 16:34) and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6).
The spoken word of God creates, changes and sustains this world and the entire universe. We have been given the opportunity to co-labor with Him through prayer to see the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. (Rev. 11:15)
Join us as we worship and endeavor to be an active part of His army of love on the earth for such a time as this!

How do we do it?
We meet each Sunday at 7:30am prior to our services and Wednesday at 6:30pm.
Wednesday night begins with a teaching segment on the various aspects of prayer. From there we go into a time of worship and prayer. People are free to come and go through the evening. Typically we pray together for a couple of hours as the Holy Spirit leads.
On Sunday we are focused on our morning services. This includes prayer for salvations, Spirit-empowered worship, personal encounters with the Lord and relevant life-changing teaching.
Each Wednesday our prayer time has a different focus:
First Wednesday of the month focus: THE NATIONS
Second Wednesday of the month focus: THE VINEYARD MOVEMENT
Third Wednesday of the month focus: THE REGION
Fourth Wednesday of the month focus: THE BODY OF CHRIST
Fifth Wednesday of the month (if there is one): THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Who can participate?
Anyone who loves the Lord and loves people is qualified to join us in corporate prayer. At the Vineyard we believe that everyone has a part to play in the life of the church. The Bible teaches us that God’s people should be “prepared for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” One of the ways in which we prepare people to serve and build up the church is through lifting our voice to God in prayer.
