Welcome to Vineyard Kids Ministry

As a church family, we believe we have a responsibility to pass on the Good News of the Gospel to the next generation. We gather together to celebrate, pray, fellowship, hear God’s word and minister to one another. We desire to model this for the children and to create an environment where children can experience the love of the Father, the gift of salvation through Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe that building relationships is the best way to teach children

As families arrive at church they bring their children upstairs to the VKGP lobby where we have a check-in station. A VKGP team member will be there to greet parents and children and give parents of babies a pager for communication. If you are a first time visitor you will be asked to fill out a short registration form. Parents sign in their children and return to the sanctuary for the service.

Yellow Room 0-2 Years: Our carefully screened staff strive to make a child’s time on Sundays a loving and fun experience. Age-appropriate toys and music create a comfortable environment for our youngest members of the church. Our paging system allows us to locate a parent quickly if the need arises. We use Play-n-Worship curriculum for babies.

Green Room 3-6 Years: Our Green Room teachers receive incoming children and guide them to our activity table for a coloring page and “How was your week?” chat. They provide a more structured learning environment for children ages 3-6 (pre-K through K). Developmentally appropriate curriculum is used in many creative ways to help the children learn about the Bible. Arts and crafts, music and movement, games, and stories make learning more fun and relevant to this age group. A small snack is provided. We are currently using Veggie Tales Sunday School Lessons in the 9:00 service and Gospel Light in the 11:00 service.

Orange Room 1st – 5th Graders: The Orange Room is home to the older children. Like our other rooms we strive to choose creative ways to teach children. Our aim is to use different learning methods to teach the children how to live their lives for Jesus whether it’s on the playground, at school, or at home with their families. A small snack is provided. We are currently using Explore the Bible from Lifeway Ministries as our Orange Room curriculum.

After 45 minutes of teaching lessons and related activities, all the children come together in the Orange Room for Kid’s Worship. Each week, a different member of our worship team leads the children and teachers in worship. We sing the same Vineyard songs as the adults, but we also add in some fun choreographed songs that help kids remember stories, verses, and important themes from the Bible. Our desire is to facilitate and encourage spiritual growth in all our children through praise and worship, prayer, and scripture, but most of all through a relationship with Jesus.

The first Sunday of every month is our Family Service where parents and children worship and take communion together in the sanctuary. During the announcement period that follows, parents and children are released to take their children upstairs to their regular classrooms.
